![]() What do you think about Drag Race's treatment of that culture on the show?ītDQ: I mean, Kim is a club kid. TV: We finally got a club kid-oriented runway. No one lives their lives not making jokes about things. When people say stuff now I’m just like, “I know you’re going to contradict yourself.” It’s just part of the whole nature of being offended by things. TV: She made a joke saying “good luck fitting in it” to Trinity Taylor, despite being one of the main queens who took offense to Eureka’s eating disorder joke a few weeks back.ītDQ: People who say that they don’t like when people say certain stuff always end up contradicting themselves in front of other people There is just a lot less to compete with. Do you think she’s breaking out of her shell or is it just that there are fewer queens remaining to focus on?ītDQ: The room is starting to thin out so I think Sasha is starting to appear more. TV: Last week, you mentioned the fact that many people have not been talking about Sasha and then, suddenly, this week, we’re seeing a much larger focus placed on her. If the challenge is more important than the runway - which, to me, it is - then Sasha and Shea definitely did a better job. And Shea looked fine despite repeating the bathing suit again.ītDQ: Theirs was better written. But yes, Peppermint, Trinity, and Sasha were the best for looks and being on theme. If you go back and look at what Trinity is wearing, or Peppermint, or Sasha. But taken alone, I think the look was amazing.ītDQ: Amazing though? She’s wearing a red cat-suit and a cape. She looked great, but it clearly was not on theme at all and she did deserve to be called out and punished. TV: I will stand by amazing when it comes to Valentina’s runway. And if we’re going to say that Valentina’s look was “bad” because of its failure to be on theme even though it was amazing as just a regular look…ītDQ: You and these words “amazing” and “brilliant!” It just was not good, especially for the theme. But if you’re judging by the whole group, then Alexis brought them down. What Peppermint and Trinity did on that runway was amazing and their film was good too. Is that something you disagree with?ītDQ: I do think that, honestly, if you’re judging the runway with the main challenge, Peppermint and Trinity looked the best on the runway. TV: Well, Sasha and Shea’s was super familiar but I do think they rightfully won because of what they managed to do with it. You can’t f*ck up every single thing and still get to stay.ītDQ: Actually, what’s a lot more unoriginal is Blaxploitation and Russian spies. If you do poorly on all of that, you need to go home! You can’t do poorly on everything and stick around. There’s been a lot of fuss about the fact that she was eliminated too soon.ītDQ: Well, she did poorly in her pilot. ![]() I just think Alexis will never be one of those forgotten people. That happens every season that some people are forgotten. TV: Given that, at this point in the competition, you need to be ready to fight for your spot on the show, do you think there’s an ideal way to go about that?ītDQ: Well, it ensures that she won’t be a forgotten TV character like some others. The sh*tty stuff, though? That was all the other girls!” This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.ītDQ: “Not everything! Just the stuff that you liked and was memorable. It was an emotional journey for all involved, and Valentina's departure is sure to shake up the dynamic moving forward. ![]() Nina Bonina Brown, on the other hand, nailed it, and sent the previous frontrunner packing. Though she did initially request to keep it on, she eventually conceded, revealing the fact that she did not know the words to the song ( Ariana Grande’s popular “Greedy”). Clearly irked, RuPaul, for the first time in history, stopped the music and demanded that Valentina take it off. Valentina started the lip sync off while still wearing a bejeweled mask that completely covered her mouth, making it impossible to see any movement from her lips. The lip sync was the icing on the top of an already perfect cake of an episode. With a messy pilot and mediocre looks on the runway, Valentina and Nina Bonina Brown both landed in the bottom. Rightfully, they secured the win - the second one they’ve won as a duo. Still, their strong looks were no match for Sasha and Shea’s performances in their phenomenal “Teets and Asky” pilot. Noted pageant queen Trinity Taylor broke out of her shell with a completely bonkers "venereal disease look," and Peppermint used her namesake as inspiration for a brilliant confectionary look straight out of Candyland. On the main stage, the queens were tasked with paying homage to the club kids that have changed the way we think about drag and gender performance.
